He Loves Me He Loves Me Not….

krispy_kreme_valentines_day_2011With the celebration of Lurrve fast approaching I thought it might be a nice idea to give you a few ideas to treat the one you love to a delicious meal. While Valentines day is not something I go crazy for some of the menus I have noticed have look utterly amazing so here are a few of my top picks for you to consider….although you may want to book fast some of these spots are nearly fully booked already.

Butchershop Bar & Grill @ £65.00 per person

I love the V-Day menu at the Butchershop which is bursting with sexy sharing plates to share with your love. These guys never let us down with a tasty meal and definitely worth checking out.

On arrival you’ll each enjoy a glass of fizz

Starters:

Sharing plate paired with a 250ml carafe of Picpoul Di Pinet, Beauvignac, France

heart– Sautéed Calamari,Chorizo & Serrano Ham.
– Pressed Chicken, Foie Gras & Smoked Ham Terrine.
– Hot Roast Smoked Salmon Rillette.

All served with toasted country bread.

Main:

Paired with a 250ml carafe of  Angus The Bull, NSW, Australia

– 500g CHATEAUBRIAND Carved at your table and served with hand cut chips, flat cap mushrooms, confit tomato with a bearnaise and pepper brandy jus

Dessert:

heartTrio of Desserts paired with two glasses of Anekena Late Harvest,Chilean

– Creme Brulee
– Apple Tarte Tatin
– A Rich Chocolate Pot

 

Corinthian Club @ £49.95 per couple

While I have never actually tried the food at the Corinthian Club (it is on the list tho) I have heard really good things about their restaurant and this menu is right up my street so makes it on to the list.

This mouth-watering menu is available from Thursday 13th – Sunday 16th February 2014 between 12.00-22.00 in the brassiere.

6 freshly chucked oysters with red wine and shallot vinegar (twelve to share)
Chicken liver pate wrapped in Spanish ham with red onion and mustard chutney
Beetroot and feta puff pastry tart with tomato and rocket salad

Mains:

Braised shank of lamb with rosemary mash, roasted vegetables and gravy
Sea bass fillets with green beans, herb crushed potatoes and butter sauce
Chicken stuffed with chorizo and spinach with tomato and bean casserole
Wild mushroom risotto cakes with asparagus salad and basil pesto

Desserts:

Lemon tart with fresh berries and clotted creamheart
Cheese plate for 1 or two with fresh fruit and biscuits

Morblas at the Hilton Glasgow @£40.00 per person

While I have never eaten in Morblas I have eaten in the Hilton Glasgow quite a few times and the food has always been exquisite.  At £40.00 per person this 5 course tasting menu has definitely piqued my interest – it looks scrumptious.

Stravaigin @ £31.95

On offer from the lovely Stravaigin are these gorgeous four seductive courses served with a fizzy cocktail. This is one of my favourite restaurants in the west end and always feels like a very romantic setting, so your sweetheart is sure to love it here.

Available in the restaurant from 5pm on Friday 14th February 2014

Intermediate:

Curried crab and Apple tian, cucumber and watercress soup, chickpea biscuits

Main:

Red Onion @ £32.00 per person

Again this is another restaurant I haven’t tried but is really close to being top of the list – in fact I may pop in on Valentines weekend to try this amazing looking menu. The valentines menu at the Red Onion is served with a glass of Prosecco and chocolates.
