Friday Foodie Fives – 5 Go To Restaurants

The Richmond restaurant review glasgow

We all have ‘Go To’ restaurants – you know those places where you just go to all the time. These are the guys that are always consistently great, and even if there is an odd bad dish you know it was a blip and it doesn’t bother you because you know it won’t happen again.

This is a list of my favourite go to places. These are all places I talk about a huge amount on the blog and on twitter because I love these restaurants. They do what they do SO well and I am incredibly lucky that they are all with in walking distance of my flat.

The Richmond restaurant review glasgow

My favourite place has to be The Richmond in the west end, they are the place I take everyone for every occasion. The staff are friendly and chatty, the menu is tempting and delicious and they are consistently good. They also lay claim to my favourite dessert in the city and my go to brunch spot. This place is such a hidden gem which I adore.

Don Costanzo

Next go to spot has to be Don Costanzo, they are brilliant! I will happily pop in here anytime of day, any day of the week to grab some delicious pasta or my personal favourite their special lemon sole, which is bought fresh from the fish market every morning. In all the times I have eaten here I have never once left feeling anything other than 100% satisfied at how outstanding the food and staff are.

Another of my go to places is Cubatas who I love. The food is always excellent and plentiful, and the staff genuinely care that you are enjoying your food  and that you’re having a great time. This is my regular go to spot if I am in the mood for some thing a little different. My favourite dish at the moment here is the chorizo wrapped in pastry – I am not going to lie last time I visited I ate 6, woops!

Being my local I visit the Drake a LOT! I am very fortunate that the gastro style food here is exceptionally good. I love the laid back feeling in the bar with staff who are too cool for school. It has a vibe of hang out as long as you like, there is no rush to get you out the door. The food is absolutely not what you would expect to find in this little cosy nook of a shabby chic bar.

For the second week in a row Lebowskis makes it into my Foodie Fives – I visit here at least once a month to get my giant burger fix. Again this is another spot where cool and laid back is very much the vibe. They do brilliant white russians and I always enjoy the food they serve here, although they have removed the sliders..booo! This place is always heaving in the evening so I do tend to keep it as a lunch spot but it is definitely one of my go to places.
