The Foodie List Glasgow

If you follow me on Twitter and Facebook you have probably been quite confused this past weekend as I posted random pictures of film crews and plates of food, wondering what the heck I was up to.

A few months ago I was approached by a TV production company in Canada (yes Canada?!?) asking if I would like to be involved in a new worldwide TV show – The Foodie List. Adriana, the lovely production assistant went on to tell me all about the show – how it would feature 4 ‘foodies’ in each city who would go on a culinary adventure, showcasing the food and culture in the city. I was even more excited to learn that Glasgow was the only UK city to feature in the show which is to be shown this year on Canadian TV and then next year internationally on National Geographic and the Discovery channel.

My excitement was taken to a whole new level when I  learnt that one of my best buddies Susie at GlasgowDragonfly had been choose to be in the show, along with the gorgeous Lynsay from Miss Westend Girl and the lovely Graeme from A Scots Larder. After I saw the ‘cast’ list I knew we were going to have an amazing time.

After much screaming and yells of ‘argh what will we wear?’ (5 costume changes incase you were wondering!) We immediately set about picking incredible locations and foods which represent Scotland and show off the Glasgow food scene to the absolute max, and boy we picked a few incredible spots who did Glasgow and Scotland proud.

I feel that I have to give special mention to Hutchesons and The Sisters – they were incredible hosts. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and they seemed genuinely thrilled that we were there advertising their restaurants to an international market. James Rusk at Hutcheson especially on Friday night turned it into a real party atmosphere with drinks and food free-flowing.

Speaking of the Hutcheson I feel I can’t write this post without mentioning the INSANE Tomahawk steak which we were showcasing for the show, it was the nicest steak I have ever eaten and an utter joy to rave about on camera and I can not wait to go back and eat it again.

I wasn’t there but I am lead to believe that Wee Guys and Gamba also turned out the Glasgow charm for our travel weary Canadian friends – Adriana, the amazing production assistant, Maud the beautiful editor and Sebastian the lovely cameraman – who all the girls were very nice to since it is his job to make us all look good 🙂

I get offered some really cool opportunities through the blog and I have done some really fun amazing things but this experience has far and away been the best thing I have ever gotten to take part in because of the blog – a truly unforgettable experience with some super cool people and one I will always treasure.
