The British Takeaway Awards Scottish Regional List

In the last few weeks you may have seen me talking about voting for your favourite Scottish Take Away in the 2nd Annual nationwide British Takeaway Awards.

The British Take Away Awards 2016

Naturally, when choosing who I was going to vote for this was a near impossible decision to make – Balti Club, Mister Singhs, La Favorita, you could even through Bread Meats Bread into the mix….my list of great Glasgow take aways was about 20 places long – a wonderful problem to have!

In the end after much toing and froing I decided to vote for my favourite Chinese – HomeWok on Byres Road.

So, when the first round of voting closed last weekend I waited with baited breath for the regional finalist to be revealed to see if my fav had made the list. Sadly HomeWok never made the cut, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a fantastic list.

Want to know who is in contention to represent Scotland in the finals??? Of course you do, so here it is…..

Argyll Road – Clydebank

Mushtaq’s – Hamilton,

Mr Chef – Wishaw

Get Stuffed – Hamilton

First Stop – Hamilton

Ramzans – Leven

Clay oven tandoori takeaway – Giffnock, Glasgow

Ally’s curry palace – Fallin

Ashoka West End – Glasgow

Tony’s Kebab Shop – Kirkcaldy

Obviously, as a west end Glasgow Gal I am getting right behind Ashoka West End. I order fairly regularly from them and it has always been pretty damn tasty, so I was pleased to see they had made the list.

To celebrate their nomination I decided to get a little home delivery order from them on Saturday night. I went for my usual order of a Chicken Patia which was light and tangy, along with some crispy chicken pakora and a paratha – and I have to tell you it was all kinds of delish!
