About The Geek

Hey! Hello! Howdy! I’m the Glasgow Food Geek, or you can just call me Pam.

I’m a thirty-something blogger, living with my husband (you might know him as MrG) and our two gorgeous fur babies, Snoops & LeoBug, in the West End of Glasgow.

I started GFG over three years ago, when MrG and I first moved to the west end. Having grown up in the suburbs neither of us had ever lived in a city before, and we didn’t want to fall into a rut of always going to the same bar or restaurant all the time.  So I decided to make a list of the 100 places I most wanted to try in the west end and city centre.

Then for a giggle, I thought I’d set up a blog so my family could read all about my west end adventures. Somehow it’s spiralled out of control into something that people actually read, and I hope enjoy!

It’s safe to say that this has taken us all a wee bit by surprise, although no one moreso than my 76 year old Gran, when trying to explain to her that people actually read what I write, her response was ‘ why do people care what you eat for your tea?’ a perfectly reasonable and classic ‘Gran’ question I think! 😛

I often say this but it’s totally true – Glasgow is one of the great loves of my life! And one of the biggest reasons for that is the incredible food scene we have here – it just has so much to offer. In fact, some of the best and funniest nights of my life have been spent in the bars and restaurants around the city, drinking tasty wine and sharing some fantastic food with friends. Granted, I do drive them a bit crazy making sure I have my perfect shot before I will letting anyone eat anything, but they know how much I love to share my favourite food experiences with you guys so they let me away with it 🙂

So once again, hello to my little corner of the internet! I hope you enjoy this diary of my adventures through the wild and wonderful food scene in Glasgow.
